SA: German motoring enthusiasts leave on Aussie trek today
Thirty German motoring enthusiasts embark on a trek across parts of Australia todayin the annual Dunlop Drivers Cup.
They've been plucked from an entry list of 14,000 to compete in the event which isbeing held in Australia for the first time.
The 10-day event starts at seaside Glenelg in Adelaide and covers 4,000 kilometres,passing through Broken Hill, the Grampians, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains before finishingin Sydney.
Each year organisers pick a different country to host the cup.
The 23 men and seven women will be involved in various driving challenges includingendurance trials and cornering, slalom and target braking competitions.
An Australian car will participate in this year's event to be driven by various celebrities.
