Apex Communications expands into Georgia.(COMMUNICATIONS)(Direct Communications )(Brief article)

Apex Communications of Wynne said that it had expanded into Georgia with the acquisition of seven retail stores from Direct Communications of Columbus, Ga.

The acquisition brings the number of Apex locations to 38.

Apex is an AT&T cell phone, home phone and Internet service retailer.

"South Georgia is demographically a lot like Arkansas and yet the AT&T presence is not as prevalent," Tim McNatt, Apex's president and CEO, said in a news release.
